 The Valdosta Association of Fire Fighters represents the professional firefighters of the Valdosta Fire Department. The purpose of this local is to protect the rights and maintain the safety of the firefighters employed by the department. The Valdosta Fire Department provides full-time, paid, professional fire protection and educational services for the City of Valdosta. The department has 105 members and consists of 5 Divisions; Operations, Inspection, Prevention, Training and Special Services. The department maintains 7 Stations, 7 Engine Companies, 2 Aerials, and a Airport Crash/Rescue Truck that operates at the Valdosta Regional Airport. Valdosta, Georgia's tenth largest city, was recently designated as the premier city of the new Metropolitan Statistical Area and serves as a regional trade area and retail hub for eleven surrounding South Georgia and North Florida counties and more than 1.2 million people. The City of Valdosta's population is currently 44,500 and is South Georgia's fastest growing city. Valdosta is home to Valdosta State University, South Georgia Medical Center and Moody Air Force Base. The wonderful southern atmosphere in Valdosta makes this a great place to live and the citizens of Valdosta support their firefighters. The Valdosta Association of Fire Fighters participates in many local events throughout the year, giving back to the community in which they serve. The union understands the needs of the citizens and strives to maintain a professional department.

| We are moving... The meeting place for the regular monthly meetings is moving. We will now be located at 1106 South Patterson Street. The Teamsters Local 528 has graciously allowed us to use thier space for our monthly meetings. Our next scheduled meeting will be December 10th(C-shift) and 11th(A-shift). Please plan to attend. During this meeting we will discuss our plans for 2008. |
